If you’re looking to get into shape and to really step up your training and take things to the next level, you will need to focus on the diet and nutritional side of things, no matter how awkward that may be for you. It doesn’t matter whether you’re looking to burn fat, build muscle, tone up, or just lead a healthier life, if your diet isn’t on point, you are basically wasting your time and you won’t get anywhere fast. Nowadays, meal prepping and meal planning is all the rage, and for very good reasons too. If you’re looking to get fitter and healthier, you will almost certainly need to plan and prep your meals for the week, and that’s where people tend to go wrong. Prepping and planning is not easy, but it can certainly be made a great deal easier. Take something as simple as a magnetic fridge board diet planner for example. This device is has different categories for 4 separate meals per day, for each day of the week, so you can plan your meals for the entire week well in advance. The diet planner is A3 in size, comes with a dry wipe marker pen, and will stick to any metallic surface. But just what are some of the primary benefits associated with meal planning, and why would you need to purchase this magnetic fridge board diet planner in the first place? Well, let’s take a look, shall we?

Save time – First and foremost, one of the biggest benefits associated with meal planning is the fact that it will save you a great deal of time for the coming weeks. You see, as you know which meals you are going to be eating for the week, you know not only which foods to purchase from the shops, but you can also even prep your meals ahead, so that they’re ready a few days beforehand. This means that you can then store them in the fridge or freezer, and then prepare them as required. Virtually none of us are blessed with the gift of time at the moment, so the last thing we want to be doing when we get in from work is having to go to the shops or wasting time on deciding what to eat for dinner, and with meal planning, we won’t have to.

Eat healthy produce – How many of you can relate to getting in from work or from the gym, starving hungry, only to find that there is nothing ready to eat, and that you can’t be bothered to spend the next hour or so, cooking and washing the pots? If you’ve ever experienced this scenario, you will either have chosen to eat convenience food, or you will simply decide to order an unhealthy take away instead. When you plan your meals however, you know which healthy ingredients to purchase in advance, and as mentioned, you can then prep your meals in advance so that they’re ready to be consumed on whichever day you have selected. Meal planning lets you know in advance what you’re going to be eating, so you are mentally ready for something healthy, and as mentioned, you can purchase fresh and healthy ingredients in advance.

Less waste – There is nothing worse than wasting food and having to throw it away because it has gone bad, as you are literally throwing your hard earned money into the bin. You don’t go out to work to make money just to waste it, yet by throwing away food, that is exactly what you are doing. When you plan your meals however, you are also allowing yourself the ability to cut way, way down on food waste. Often we find ourselves buying food and leaving it in the fridge because we don’t feel like cooking or eating it on a particular day. By the time we are ready to use it, it’s often past its sell by date and has gone bad. With meal planning however, you know not only which foods to purchase, but which quantities to purchase as well. This means you don’t buy too much, and it means you don’t buy food that is not going to be used. Basically, by planning your meals, you know the exact ingredients to buy, and how much, so nothing gets wasted, and you actually save money.

Less shopping – Shopping is a pain in the backside, especially when you’re tired, hungry, and find yourself shuffling down the food aisles like a zombie for the third time in one week. When you plan your meals however, you actually cut back on the amount of time required for shopping, so not only will you save money on food, you will also save money on travel costs. By planning your meals in advance, you can do one large food order for the entire week, because your meal planning schedule, such as your handy fridge magnet, will serve as a form of shopping list.

Great for specialist diets – It doesn’t matter whether you’re following a bodybuilding diet rich in protein, or if you’re doing the 5:2 diet, keto, Slimming World, or anything else for that matter, these diets can be tough to stick to, especially as you will need a little variety to keep things fresh and exciting. By planning your meals in advance, you can then plan delicious, tasty, and exciting meals that will help you to lose weight, build muscle, or achieve whichever other health and fitness goals you’ve set yourself, without becoming bored of eating the same foods. If for example, you know that Monday is Lasagne night, Tuesday is beef stir fry night, and so on, you can prepare healthy versions of these meals in advance, without becoming bored of salad and other forms of similar bland tasting foods every day. Dieting needn’t be a challenge and it needn’t involve bland foods that you’re sick of eating, and by planning your meals, it won’t be.
